How do I find the full-text for specific articles? How do I request articles that are not available?
I have one or more specific citations for articles that I would like to read. How do I find the full text? The library does not have an article I need, how do I request it?
Answer
To find full text at UHNLibraries.ca start with the OneSearch box, which is under the blue menu bar on the Home page of UHNLibraries.ca. Paste the title of the article you're looking for into the box and hit search.
From there you'll see a list of citations found in any of the UHN Library resources. Under each citation, there are some links indicating if we have the full text and how to access it.
If the link says "Full Text online" it should take you to the journal page with the full text.
If the link says PDF, it should take you directly to the PDF.
If there's a link that says "citation online" we probably don't have the full text. Instead, if you click on the title of the article, and then:
- click the "Interlibrary Loan" link
- click the "Request via Interlibrary Loan" link
- fill in the Interlibrary Loan form
we will look for a copy of the article at another library and let you know if there is going to be a fee.
If you can't find your article by searching OneSearch, you can also fill in the request form and we will try to obtain the article for you from another library.
